Did you take a moment last week to think about both your most loved and most challenging areas of your life? Perhaps you even went so far as to have a look at what you value most, and came to the realisation that you are ready to set a goal? If that’s the case, then this is the week for you to create some magic.
As you know, we like to look at things a little differently to most of the goal-setting pundits- and we want to do it with FUN.
So the very first thing to do this week, is to look at your most loved life area, and dream up something amazing you’d like to achieve.
Perhaps you’re looking at family, and you’d love to go on a trip to Disneyland. To start, grab some pics of that magical place, and get all fuzzy, imagining what it IS like to be there- actually five sense it, and then pick up a pen, and write it all down. The most evocative way is to do it, is as a letter from your future-self (you get to choose the date- it could be next year, or in five years time) describing exactly what it’s like.
Give yourself permission to really get into it, and make the story bold and bright with as much detail as you can muster. You can add in smells, and even scripts of conversations you are having. The “inking” here is important, as we know that writing goals makes them at least 33% more likely to occur. Once you have created the story (yes, you are a magical creator) then all than needs to happen is for you to step in to the picture.
By that we mean, chunking down the steps required to get there. In this example that will include things llike pricing it up, deciding on an actual date, setting up a savings plan and then doing THE MOST SIMPLE thing you can, today, to start the process. Perhaps you could put $1 in a jar with Mickey Mouse ears drawn on it, and voila: you’ve taken the first step. Then tomorrow you’ll take another.
The last thing to do in this goal setting bonanza is to PROFESS your intention. Chat with your partner, friends or family. Create a little team of supporters who will either join you, or cheer you on, so that you can all celebrate your success together.
Have fun kicking a goal today.
