Quick Click #62: When You Were Four

Welcome to July, the month of Follow Your Heart.

As you know this month we will be reading “The Five Love Languages” and our oil is Ylang Ylang: the oil of the inner child.

Now don’t worry, we aren’t about to go all foetal and get you to rebirth or anything like that, but we are going to build on some of the ideas from Bruce Lipton- mainly that most of the subconscious stories we are running have been with us for as long as we can remember, and they weren’t even necessarily OUR choices. (Yes, we all know Al has been shocked by this revelation).

Last month we were talking about connection, and this month we will go a little deeper with that, as we ask your inner child what it wants. (Perhaps you are already tracking on that right now).

This is a fave topic of ours and it’s even depicted in our logo. Have you noticed the little red heart at the end of our CWC golden thread? That thread represents our connection to you and your heart. It’s what brings you back home. You’ll notice the thread goes up and down, just like life, but always wanting to pop back up. It’s irrepressible.

As are you.

That heart is more than just who you are right now, but all that you have ever been. That heart holds your dreams and your potential. It may have some markings on it: some of them will be the light etchings of happiness and others may be deeper scars of sadness. But they are all yours. And they make you YOU.

So when you look at the heart we would love you to listen to it, and think about the questions it gently whispers: What do I really want? What am I here for? Who are my tribe? How can I find them? What dreams have I given up on? Which ones do I want to rekindle?

We don’t expect you to answer all of these right now, and as we move through July we will inch closer to your truths, so for now we want you to take a moment and remember what it was like to be four or five years old. It was probably a big year. You might have been at kindy or school, or at least starting to spend time without your parents. You may have had siblings and pets. And you definitely would have had moments where time stood still and you were completely engrossed in something that made that heart of yours sing.

Can you recall what it was that you loved so much?

What was it that lifted you up, filled you with golden light and made you feel quite magical?

Let’s make a golden thread to connect back to those moments.

So today, sip a cuppa, sit in your heart and remember.

Feel the spell of timelessness, and the tingle on your skin of the special thing that you loved so much.
