Quick Click #46: Your Corona
Corona: A white or coloured circle of light seen around a luminous body, especially around the sun or moon.
Yep, we’re going there. There’s so much going on in the news and the world about Covid-19 that we thought you would like us to weigh in. But not with hysteria (and whilst we are talking definitions, did you know that the word hyster comes from the Greek word for uterus? So maybe it’s time for us chicks to own that word too. And use it in a positive way. But that’s probably a topic for another month.)
For now, let’s get back to our little viral friend. Today, we want to know how you are travelling. We are guessing that none of us are yet immune to the implications of what is happening. For some of us it will be concerns over finances or food, and for others it might be nervousness over cabin fever. Either way, if you find yourself in a strange limbo, then we want you to recognise that the source of discomfort is probably in the unknown. There’s even a saying for it, “Waiting for the other shoe to drop.”
Fear is a curious thing. Some people call it False Evidence Appearing Real, for in fact, fear is not a present-time emotion. It is a future projection.
For example, let’s say you are scared of being pecked by a magpie (Or is that just me?-Al), when the maggie is sitting in the tree giving you the evil eye, and you know you have to walk underneath, you can feel a sense of forboding; wondering if it will peck you to death and dance on your corpse (Yes, Al watched The Birds too many times in the 80s). When you finally muster up the courage and to walk in it’s territory, it either pecks you or it doesn't. If it doesn’t: yay. If it does have a swoop, you don’t do fear, you take control and take action (Like screaming, throwing your arms in the air and running in circles like a person possessed). And that's not actually fear.
This week we want you to have a look at FEAR. What are your fears around this whole thing, and what actions can you take, right now, that can help you to transition to the other side? (And by the way, on the other side of fear is bliss).
What ‘shit’ do you need to shed to make your corona really pop? Let’s see your circle of light. Let’s see you shine.
