Quick Click #44: Shedding It

Well here we are, somehow time has marched on, and we are in March. In the southern hemisphere it is the beginning of Autumn, so just as the weather is getting cooler and the trees are shedding their leaves, March is the perfect month to think about what shedding WE would love to do. Coupled with the seasonal change, March is the time of the portentous, “Beware the Ides of March” and even though we aren’t about to be stabbed like Caesar, it’s a great time to imagine what traitorous habits we might be allowing into our lives. 

Remember, our habits are not just the physical things we do, they are also the thoughts that we play over and over again in our minds. Some of them are supportive and useful, and others may be in need of some pruning.

Take a moment now and think about this: what is the one single thing that you could shed or remove that would change your life the most?

It is often said that we are only one decision away from an entirely different life. What would that decision be for you?

Today is the day to grant yourself the space to let your mind mull over this, and come up with something. It doesn't have to be momentous- remember this is Autumn, the month we gently cut back our plants so that they will flower and bear fruit in the months ahead, not today. All you need to do today is to notice what to shed (and not how).

Sometimes we can get caught up on the how: how will I shed the weight, debt, negative thoughts, mess, relationships? See if you can stop that from happening today, and just come up with one thing. Then grab a pen and write it down. We will be chatting what to do with it in the podcast.
